Kindergarten Home School Curriculum

My Kindergarten Home School Curriculum Experience

I must admit, I didn't originally have a kindergarten home school curriculum, because I didn't home school my children in Kindergarten. I was even hesitant to teach 1st grade.

I had "phonics phobia" because I never learned phonics in school (it was a phase schools were going through in those days.) But I did home school one son in pre-school although at the time I called it "staying home with him". That was also the year I had my youngest child and retired from teaching (at public school).

Throughout the year, my son and I colored, read, cooked, played, and sang. Hey – we WERE homeschooling.

Then, I started homeschooling my daughter in 1st grade. However, she’s young for her grade (August birthday). So, I had to supplement with kindergarten home school curriculum at the beginning of the year.

And, a lot of the supplies/products that are great for kindergarten work well for first grade, also. Sarah and I both learned phonics that year. She’s a great reader today, thanks to kindergarten home school curriculum!
